L.C. Roberts

Roberts, 85, of Chattanooga, died Friday, May 2, 2014. He was born May 3, 1928 in Chattanooga a son of the late Charles L. Roberts Sr. and Lucinda Teague Roberts. He was preceded in death by sister, Mildred Stubblefield; and brother Charles Roberts Jr. He was retired, after 20 years, from the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant. He served during the Korean Conflict and Viet Nam. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star, as well as many other commendations. After he retired from the Army he went to work for Control Data where he retired after 20 years of service. Survivors include nieces Carol Myers, of Harrison, and Billie Faye Green, of Plant City, Fla.; nephews, Charlie Roberts, of Ooltewah, Bill Stubblefield of Dalton and Rick Stubblefield, of Cleveland. Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Vick officiating. There will be no public visitation.
