Nathaniel Jones

Nathaniel "Nate" Jones departed this life on Monday, April 28, 2014, at Hospice of Chattanooga. Nate was born June 11, 1960 in Detroit, Mich. to the late James W. Jones Sr. and Virginia Jones. Nathaniel was the youngest of (10) ten siblings. Two of his siblings have preceded him in death and they were Addie Darlene McLaurin and Asbury Jones. Nate attended Northwestern High School at a early age, he received a high school diploma. He worked for AETNA Ind. for four years as a press operator. He also worked for Thorn Apple Valley for three years while attending Northwestern Auto Mechanics Technical School. Nate graduated with a degree. He was a devoted member of Zion Chapel Church of Christ Holiness in Detroit, Mich. After moving to Lookout Mountain, Tenn., with his sister Doris in 2008 he joined Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church where he attended the Mens Bible Study and the Prayer Bible Hour on Thursday mornings until his health fell him. Nate was the light of everyone's life. He leaves to mourn his passing, Mary Lavon James, James Jones Jr. (Gwen), Estell Jones (Charmaine), DeLores Jones, Willie Jones (Olga), all of Detroit, Mich., Doris All Walls, of Lookout Mountain, Tenn., and Lillie Ll. Magee, of Dallas, Ga., and a host of nephews and nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, great-great-nephews and great-great -nieces and a host of other extended relatives and friends. A celebration of his life is planned at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church located at 316 N Bragg Street in Lookout Mountain, Tenn., with the Rev. Brian Salter officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday afternoon at the church from 2 until the 3 p.m. service time.
