Thomas Cupp

Thomas Marion Cupp, 68, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 4, 2014. He was born in Dekalb County, Ala. to the late, William Thomas and Jessie Viola Cupp but had lived in the Chickamauga area for most of his life and was of the Christian faith. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was the Owner and Operator of Thomas Cupp Masonry for more than 43 years. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and was always putting others needs before his own. He was a loving and devoted brother, husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Sue Norris Cupp; three brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Elaine Cupp; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and (Peggy) Cupp; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Alice and (Kent) Womack all of Chickamauga, Ga.; step-sons, Douglas and (Genny) Murray and Michael and (Michelle) Murray Jr.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil Cupp, of Chickamauga, David and (Ann) Cupp, of Cedartown, Ga., and L.C. and (Trudy) Cupp, of Chickamauga; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dimple Freeman, of Rainsville, Ala., Glenda and (Robert) Crumley of Valley Head, Ala. and Nancy and (Jesse) Jones, of Fort Payne, Ala.; two grandchildren, Taylor Cupp and Tyler Shaw; step-grandchildren, Michael Hathcox, Grace Murray, Matthew Ragsdale and Michael Whitfield and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Brother Jackie Womack officiating. Burial will follow in the LaFayette Memory Gardens.
