David Simmons

LaFAYETTE David Timothy Simmons, 54, passed away Monday, May 5, 2014. He was born Oct. 14, 1959 in LaFayette, Ga., to the late Orville Simmons and Idella Simmons-Ramey. He was of the Baptist faith and loved fishing, racing and classic cars. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Lester Jackson; and sister, Elizabeth Ann Simmons Prevatt. Survivors include four sisters, Paulette Simmons Liles, Charlotte Anita Simmons Murphy, Vivian Lynn Simmons Keissling and Betty Jo "Cis" Ramey-Moret; six brothers, Terry Dewayne Simmons, Jimmy Nolan Simmons, Robert Eugene "Bob" Simmons, Vernon "Cotton" Simmons, Jackie Farron Simmons and Lavon "Doodle Bug" Ramey; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel.
