Virginia Boatfield

Virginia "Gency" Boatfield, 80, went to be with the Lord on Sunday May 4, 2014, in a local hospital. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Rossville. She loved quilting and Little Mountain. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Skin" Boatfield; parents, Kenneth and Margie Lawson; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her children, Patricia (Allen) Johnson, Jimmy (Wendy) Boatfield and Johnny (Kay) Boatfield; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Glenda Giles; brother, Harold Lawson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2014, in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Hardin officiating. Burial will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends today and Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour in the funeral home.
