Anthony Strickland

Anthony Strickland, 58, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014, in a local hospital. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a member of Westside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Opal Strickland Talley; father, Zebedee Crum; grandparents, Ernest and Irene Strickland; aunt, Inez Reed; uncle, Joe Nay Strickland; stepbrother, Barry Crum; and great-aunt, Loudie Armstrong. Survivors include son, L'Quan Strickland (fiancee', Andrea Hall), of Chattanooga; daughter, L'Toya Strickland (Lonnie Jr.) Smith, of New Albany, Ind.; grandchildren, Dakarious Strickland, Quaniya Strickland and Lonnie "Trey" Smith; brother, Stanford Strickland; stepbrothers, Jeff Crum and Greg Crum; sister, Zandra Crum Strickland; uncles, Ernest (Gloria) Strickland and Connell Strickland, all of Chattanooga; aunts, Sarah Moore of Chattanooga and Wylene (Reverend J.C.) Bonner, of St. Louis, Mo.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends. The body will lie-in-state today after 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at noon Friday in the chapel with the Rev. J.C. Bonner as the eulogist. Burial: Chattanooga National Cemetery.
