Tean Dalrymple

Tean Dalrymple, 85, of Hixson, died from complications of COPD on Sunday, May 11, 2014. Tean was born in Geraldine, Ala., on May 27, 1928 and graduated Geraldine High School. He moved to Chattanooga in the early 1950s and started work at the DuPont plant. He later worked at Addressograph-Multigraph Corporation where he was top salesman for many years.He moved on to Bell and Howell Corporation and then to Hamilton National Bank where he managed the data processing center and printing department. In 1975 he purchased Kopi-King Inc. along with partner Paris Walker. In 1978 he started Choice Graphics Inc. operating the business alongside his son, Jeff, until 2006, selling printing equipment nationally and internationally. Tean was also vice president of Dalrymple Rigging and Transport until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of Middle Cross Baptist Church in Hixson. Tean was a kind, gentle family man with a big heart that lived to tell stories and always had a joke. He always had a smile on his face, he never met a stranger. He will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Carl Dalrymple and Flossie Traylor Dalrymple; brother, Rhoal Dalrymple; sister, Donna Mitchell; and son, Don Dalrymple. Survivors include his wife, Connie Dalrymple; son, Jeff Dalrymple; brother, Mickey Dalrymple; daughters, Kay Morrison, Jan Giles and Sharon Simmons; son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Kim Hullender; son, Mark Hullender; grandchildren, Ryder, Kane, and Kaitlin Hullender, Colt Simmons, Chad and Clay Giles, Chelsea and Jana Michaelson. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ed Gravett officiating. A private family burial will be Beulah Cemetery, Fyffe, Ala. The family will receive friends for visitation from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2014, and on Friday, May 16, 2014 one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
