Charles Thompson Jr.

Charles Arnold Thompson Jr., 62, of Chattanooga, passed away in his apartment on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Charles was born in Detroit, Mich., on Nov. 22, 1951, a son to the late Charles Thompson Sr. and Ruth Thompson. He was of the Baptist faith. Charles enjoyed playing golf as well as spending time with his friends. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his only brother, Jack E. Thompson. Charles leaves behind to cherish his memory, one son Charles (Jeanna) Thompson III; one daughter, Julie (Lance) Shipley; seven grandchildren, Emily Grace Thompson, Abby Claire Thompson, Hollis Thompson, Henry Thompson, Brock Shipley, Tyler Shipley, Avari Shipley, along with numerous other extended family members and friends. A graveside memorial is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday May 24, 2014, at Harrison Cemetery located on 58 Highway.
