William F. Lynn, 81, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014. William served his country in the U.S. Army serving two years in Korea. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and being outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Tempie Lynn; brothers, George and Charles Lynn, Sisters, Marie Grayson and Mary Alice Weeks; stepson, Truman Pritchett. William is survived by his partner of 40 years, Hazel Johnson Lynn, of Tunnel Hill; children, William Edward (Sharon) Lynn and Faye Caudill, both of Jamestown, Tenn.; brothers, Jake Lynn, Chatsworth; Joe Lynn, Tunnel Hill; Billy (Faye) Lynn, Ringgold; John (Janie) Lynn, Tunnel Hill; Edward Lynn, Ringgold; Larry Lynn, Tunnel Hill; sisters, Elaine Griffith, Ringgold; Gertrude Ledford, Cohutta; and Shirley Higgins, Tunnel Hill; step-children, Teresa (John) Wengert, Rick Johnson, Ringgold; Debra Threlkeld, Rossville; and Tony (Carrie) Johnson, Ringgold; Troy and Ivan Pritchett and Wyatt Taborn, Tunnel Hill; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Gordy Memorial Gardens at 162 Williams Road Northwest, Dalton, GA 30721 with Pastor Craig Westbrook officiating.
