Harry Rice Jr.,

Harry Rice Jr. Harry Charles Rice Jr., 92, a resident of Alexian Village, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014. He was born in Allentown, Pa., to Harry C. and Mildred Rice. He had been a resident of Chattanooga since his graduation from M.I.T. Before his retirement he was an executive of Combustion Engineering. He took his naval training at Harvard University and served as a Ensign and Supply Officer during World War. He was an avid golfer from the time he was a member of his high school golf team until his later years. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, several local golf clubs, the Board of Elks, the Engineers Club, and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora Fehn Rice; his parents; and sister, Shirley Rice Logan. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. A private graveside services will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alexian Village Scholarship Fund or the American Heart Association. Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist.
