Gloria Brown

Mrs. Gloria A. Brown, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, at a local health facility in Collegedale, Tenn. She was born in Taylor, Pa. on October 9, 1933. She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Michael Kubala; and her mother, Mrs. Mary Hrindich Kubala; both of Taylor, Pa. Prior to retirement, she was the director of sales for the Chattanooga Choo Choo in Chattanooga. During her service at the Choo Choo she was well known for her creative talents in making sure that she took care of her employees with great appreciation for their work in the field of catering. She was a member of St. Georges Orthodox Greek Catholic Church, Taylor, Pa. Surviving is her husband of 61 years, Mr. Arthur H. Brown of Ooltewah, Tenn. and formerly of Old Forge, Pa. She is also survived by her two daughters, Deborah B. (Ron) Smith, Lynn A. (David) Hudson, both of Ooltewah, and one son, Arthur D. (Lillian) Brown of Old Forge, Pa. In addition, she is survived by her two devoted brothers, Michael (Louise) Kubala, and Ronald (Joan) Kubala; her grandchildren: Jennifer L. Lewis, Knoxville, Tennessee, Nicole (Shane) Parrott, Ooltewah, Alexandra and Trevor Brown, both of Old Forge, Pa.; one great-grandchild, Michael Parrott, of Ooltewah; one niece and several nephews and two great-nephews. Gloria has always given freely in the form of donations to many charities in need of support. She has been especially giving to any organization that supported the welfare of animals. She believed that these helpless creatures needed people like herself to survive. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 11 a.m. in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Amy Nutt officiating. Interment will be in Ooltewah Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014 and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Valley View Chapel.
