Clarence Sweatman

Clarence Robert Sweatman, 78, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, in Redmond Regional Medical Center. Mr Sweatman was born Jan. 4, 1936 in Trion, Ga. Mr. Sweatman was a member of Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and retired after serving our country for 23 1/2 years. He was also retired from the USPS as a postal clerk. Mr. Sweatman enjoyed metal detecting, fishing, watching Braves baseball. He was a great guy, best grandfather in the world. He enjoyed cooking breakfast for the grandchildren and was the father of the family and looked after all of his brothers and their families. Mr. Sweatman was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Leroy Sweatman and Ella Juanita Roberts Sweatman; brothers, Orville Lee "Shorty" Sweatman, Hugh Max Sweatman, Jerry Lamar Sweatman and Harold Sweatman. Mr. Sweatman is survived by his wife, Muriel Sweatman; daughters, Hope Sweatman Welch and Dawn Sweatman (Gregory Allen) Clark; grandchildren, Shaina Hope Clark, Hunter Steven Clark, Tristan McCall Welch, and Roland Dwight Welch; special friends, Grant Montgomery, Lee and Wanda Wright; nieces and nephews; special Doctors and Nurses who took care of him at Redmond Regional Medical Center. Visitation: from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at Coffman Funeral Home, Petitt Chapel, Summerville, Ga. Funeral at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, from the Chapel of Coffman Funeral Home, Summerville, Ga. Interment: West Hill Cemetery, Trion.
