Janet Benefield

Janet Morris Benefield, 58, passed away Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at Erlanger Medical Center. She was a graduate of Central High School and earned her undergraduate degree at UTC. Janet worked at Erlanger Medical Center for 28 years and taught at Cleveland State. She attended Brainerd Hills Baptist Church. Surviving relatives; husband, Brian Benefield; daughter, Kelly (Stephen) Carmichael; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Sean Carmichael; parents, Joseph and Joy Morris; sisters, Jayne and Julie Morris; sister-in-law, Sandra (Lamar) Goines; nieces, Kim and Lisa Kinsey. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Richard Mason and Pastor Bill Mason, officiating. The interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to The American Diabetes Association, 4660 Old Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37918.
