Helen Harris

Helen Ackerman Harris, 91, passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Harris, and son, Johnny Harris. Survivors include daughter, Mary Gordy; sons, Freddie (Cecilia) Harris, Doug (Pam) Harris and Ben (Debbie) Harris; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com. Funeral services will be held today, Sept. 22, at 3 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Neal Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. today at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
