Bill Matherly Sr,

Bill Matherly Sr. DAYTON Billy Glenn Matherly Sr., 83, passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, in Chattanooga. A lifelong resident of Rhea Co., and was a member and also active in the Living Church of God in Crossville, Tenn. He was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. He also ran Richland Park Cinema for 17 yards and was a Dayton City police officer. He also repaired VCRs and electronics in his video store and also recorded videos of weddings. Preceding him in death were his parents, John E. and Lucy Hood Matherly; and a sister, Hazel Purser. Survivors included wife, Velma Taylor Matherly of Dayton; three children, Billy (Carolyn)Matherly Jr., Enterprise, Ala.; Jeremy (Sheila)Taylor, Birchwood, Tenn.; and Steve (Jenny) Matherly, Enterprise, Ala.; six grandchildrenk four great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew. Services set for 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home., with Martin Fannin and Danny Baisley officiaing. Interment follows in Hood Cemetery. Visitation from 2-8 p.m., today, Jan. 18. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Living Church of God, P.O.
