Virginia Everett

ZVirginia Everett Virginia Hicks Everett "Gin Gin" departed this life on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015. She was born in Ashland, Ky., and was preceded in death by her parents, Murray F. and Lorene Vance Hicks. She graduated from Chattanooga High School and received a secretarial degree from Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Mo. She was married to Malone J. Everett, president and founder of Pension and Profit Sharing Associates for over 67 years. She is also survived by her two sons, Douglas N. (Penny) Everett, and David M. (Vicki) Everett. Gin Gin is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Tabitha E. (Dillon) Waller, Thomas Everett, both of Franklin, Tenn., and Ashley E. Everett, Alexis C. (Miller) Hedges, and David Malone Everett. She not only loved her grandchildren but all of the children around her. Gin Gin was the consummate Southern lady. She loved to dance, laugh, and sing. She always held herself to the highest standards of deportment. Typical of Gin Gin, she has donated her body to science so others might have a chance to live a better life. Memorial services will take place at St. Pauls Episcopal Church on Monday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m., with the Reverends Donald Fishburne, D.D.M. and H. Hunter Huckabay, D.D.M., officiating. Reception in Key-Andrews Hall immediately following the service. Interment will be at a later date and will be private. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Pauls Episcopal Church. Book of Rememberance or Hospice of Chattanooga.
