Chattanooga's top basketball prospect commits to Mississippi State

Hamilton Heights senior Abdulhakim Ado announced his commitment to Mississippi State Monday evening after a scrimmage at McCallie.

The 6-foot-11 Ado chose the Bulldogs over Auburn, LSU and Penn State. He becomes the fifth four-star prospect of head coach Ben Howland's first full recruiting class, which helps solidify them in the top 10 of most Class of 2016 recruiting rankings.

Ado is the Chattanooga area's top-rated prep basketball prospect and also had offers from Oregon, Georgia, Louisville, Memphis, Tennessee, UNLV and Vanderbilt. He averaged 9.9 points, 9.8 rebounds and 5.9 blocks a season ago while playing for the Hawks.
