LIVE: Former Ooltewah High School basketball coach appears in court

More Ooltewah rape case stories

The day after three former Ooltewah High School basketball players were convicted in connection with the rape of a teammate, the team's former head coach Andre "Tank" Montgomery appeared in Hamilton County Criminal Court.

Hamilton County District Attorney Neal Pinkston charged Montgomery with four counts of failure to report child sexual assault to the proper authorities.

Montgomery's attorney, Curtis Bowe, is arguing today why the case should be dismissed.

Pinkston also charged former Ooltewah volunteer assistant coach Karl Williams and the school's former Athletic Director Allard "Jesse" Nayadley with failure to report child sexual assault. The charges against Williams were dropped in May.

Nayadley accepted pretrial diversion, meaning he agreed to skip a grand jury review and the charges will be erased from his record in 180 days if he completes 10 hours of community service, attends a course on reporting abuse and is well-behaved.
