Officials with Sevier County Juvenile Court said a transfer hearing will be held March 15 to determine if one of the individuals charged in connection with the rape of an Ooltewah High School 15-year-old will be transferred to adult court.

Three former Ooltewah High School basketball players, two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old are charged in Sevier County with aggravated rape and aggravated assault of a 15-year-old teammate on Dec. 22.

According to sources involved in the investigation, the 17-year-old has turned 18 since the alleged crime was committed.

Sevier County Juvenile Court records say the then 17-year-old penetrated the victim with a pool cue, while the two 16-year-olds held him down.

Records previously obtained by the Times Free press show that the two 16-year-olds were approved for $5,000 bonds.

Court records say that none of the boys have a previous record and their families have been cooperative through the process.
