A Chattanooga Police officer followed Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez on April 20 as he weaved over the white dotted lines on Market Street. Then the officer flashed his blue lights when the 24-year-old turned onto the Highway 27 on-ramp.
The officer stopped Abdulazeez on the highway ramp and eventually conducted a field sobriety test. When the officer asked about a white powder on Abdulazeez' nose, Abdulazeez explained that the powder was from caffeine pills.
Abdulazeez was charged with a DUI. His arrest took place three months before he was killed by police gunfire after killing four servicemen and mortally wounding a fifth at a military center on Amnicola Highway.
In June, Abdulazeez was given another ticket after smashing his car into a man's fence.
