Congressional leaders ordered flags lowered to half-staff in recognition of the shooting death of four U.S. Marines and a Navy sailor in Chattanooga.
U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, ordered the flags down Tuesday morning, according to a tweet from U.S. Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn, and several other reports.
The decision to lower the flag comes some national criticism for flags at the White House remaining at full-staff following the deadly Chattanooga shooting. But President Barack Obama could address the flag status at the White House as soon as Tuesday.
