Greater Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame banquet tickets on sale

Tickets are on sale for the Greater Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame induction banquet on March 11 at the Chattanooga Convention Center.

Twenty new inductees will be honored along with six special award winners. The event will begin at 6 p.m.

Tickets cost $60 or a table for eight may be reserved for $500, either way at chatthalloffame.org. The deadline is Feb. 26.

The inductees include Cotton Perry for auto racing, Sal Rende and Van Shumaker for baseball, Johnny Taylor and Ron Shumate for men's basketball, Tommy Jewell and Jason Reuter for women's basketball, Eric Westmoreland and Robert Akins for football, Ted Broyles and Kirk Lewis for officials/administrators and Heather Randolph and the late Doug Moser for softball.

Brandon Deal is going into the hall for soccer, Bonny List for swimming, Lindsey Young for sports media, Lamonte Vaughn Jr. for track and field, Connie Caldwell-Rogan for volleyball and Gary Drinnon and Terence Derrick for weightlifting.

Special awards are going to athletes of the year Piper Fowler and Patrick Johnson as well as Jamarie Ballard, Laura Herron, Vernon Holtcamp and Presidents Award recipient Bobby Dunn.
