Braseel has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against Grundy County, the estate of the-late Sheriff Brent Myers and former Chief Deputy Lonnie Cleek. Those defendants recently filed an answer to the suit denying wrongdoing in Braseel's wrongful 2007 murder conviction.
