Utah company gets tax breaks, aid for $115 million facility

Lifetime Products expects to employ 125 workers when it opens a new kayak manufacturing plant in April 2017, a facility the company said also will serve as a distribution hub for East Coast and overseas customers, records show.

The company plans to phase in 500 jobs over five years, among the new details released on the deal - dubbed "Project Holston" by officials - to bring the Utah-based company to Knox County.

The Development Corp. of Knox County last week released to the News Sentinel documents outlining aspects of the deal, including the company's application for a tax abatement program.
