TVA Employees Participate in their 20th CFC Day of Caring at Chambliss Center for Children
More than 130 TVA employees came to Chambliss Center for Children for a Combined Federal Campaign Day of Caring. It's the 20th year TVA has chosen the agency for the project. Volunteers completed almost all 50 tasks on the agency's wish list - cleaning, painting, replacing ceiling tiles, sorting files, carpeting steps, mulching, clearing trees and small construction projects.
"TVA employees who attend this Day of Caring are highly skilled," says Katie Harbison, vice president of development and administration for Chambliss Center for Children. "They get an entire year's worth of projects completed in one day. This is a huge financial help to our agency, as we would otherwise have to hire out many of these jobs."
