MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - Prosecutors say a woman has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for shooting her boyfriend at their apartment in suburban Atlanta.

Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds said Friday that 46-year-old Cattrina Victoria Crider was sentenced in the 2014 shooting her boyfriend after the couple had been drinking at the apartment in Marietta. Crider was convicted last week of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and two firearms-possession charges.

Reynolds says Crider shot her boyfriend in the stomach as the victim tried to get away from her. The victim staggered outside and tried to save himself before a neighbor found him then called for help.

The victim survived but his injuries left him with medical issues.
