When it comes to treatment and the ol' ice baths this morning, Ooltewah kicker Alek Toser may be first in line.

The senior got more action in 48 minutes Friday night than he did in a week of practice - 10 kickoffs, eight point-after kicks and a pair of field goals - and it was evidence of his team's all-phases domination.

Ooltewah went from hyperdrive to overdrive to coasting home in a 62-7 Region 4-5A victory over injury-riddled Soddy-Daisy and improved to 4-2 overall, 1-1 in the league.

"The first half was really good - all three phases contributed - and we made some things happen and got some points from the special teams. The defense played really well and the offense was very efficient," Ooltewah coach Mac Bryan said.

Nine Owls were in on the scoring with Toser getting 14 points as they averaged 8.6 yards in rolling up 219 rushing yards while getting 130 passing yards on Collin Thurman's 9-of-13 accuracy.

"We came out and put on a full-on show. We executed on defense. We got turnovers and we established the run early. The special teams played well and we did some good things in the passing game. I was satisfied," the senior quarterback said. "As a team, no doubt the best game we've had."

Senior Kendall Robinson also put on a show, recording an interception, a pass break-up and a blocked-punt recovery to set up a score and picking up a high snap on a punt and running it back for a touchdown. He also had a lost-yardage hit.

"He played pretty well. He's a good football player," Bryan said. "He has a lot of speed, and he's a very physical player."

Soddy-Daisy's Gavin Chambers, the sophomore quarterback who made his second start after injuries to Justin Cooke and Ty Boeck, was hounded unmercifully all night. He was sacked four times and was intercepted three times but still completed 12 of 22 passes.

The Trojans, who lost another player (Landon Reece, ankle) Friday, never got on track, primarily because of a limited offense and the swarming, stingy Owls defense that limited them to 133 total yards.

Soddy-Daisy's lone score, coming with 5:07 left in a clock-running second half, was a 96-yard kickoff return by Brandon Davis.

Ooltewah scored 31 first-quarter points. Cameron Turner's 4-yard run finished off a 56-yard opening drive, Sincere Quinn scored from 12 yards out after a fumble recovery at the Trojans' 12, Robinson recovered the high punt snap and scored, Toser had his first field goal, after a 7-yard Soddy-Daisy punt, and Quinn scored after a blocked punt by Robinson.

Cam Chambers pulled in a 7-yard pass from Thurman and Andrew Manning was on the receiving end of a 64-yard hook-up with Thurman to close out the first half.

Jake Sullivan picked off a pass and returned it 36 yards for the only third-quarter score.

Toser had his second field goal in the fourth before the Trojans' lone score, and backup running back Tyland Cargle scooted 65 yards for Ooltewah and the game's final score.
