Harrison Moon is ready for a chance to play football.

He's going somewhere where he'll have that opportunity.

The former Signal Mountain standout, who spent the last three seasons at Mississippi State, announced his intentions to transfer to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The 6-foot-5, 290-pound offensive lineman will enroll in January and have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Moon was a three-star offensive lineman at Signal Mountain, ranked as the No. 17 player in the state by ESPN, as well as the No. 67 tackle prospect in the country. He redshirted in 2015 in Starkville before primarily playing special teams for the Bulldogs.

"I've been a two-year letterman in the SEC, and I'm forever grateful for that and it has been a dream come true," Moon told the Times Free Press on Tuesday. "But I only have two years of eligibility left, and I just really want the opportunity to come home and play offensive line and help bring Chattanooga a championship."

Moon - who will join quarterback Nick Tiano as former MSU players now at UTC - will help an offensive line that struggled in 2017 but returns six players who started games. The Mocs lose two offensive linemen: center Josh Cardiello, a two-time second-team All-Southern Conference selection, and Alex Hooper, who started the final two games of the season.
