ATLANTA (AP) - A man has admitted to fatally shooting his roommate in Atlanta in 2014, sending a picture of the body to a friend and dumping it in Alabama.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Wednesday that 26-year-old Teon Graham was sentenced to life in prison on several offenses, including murder.

Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard Jr.'s office says Graham claimed 25-year-old Tion Casterman owed him $5,000 from a fraudulent student loan that they worked together to obtain. Graham says the victim refused to pay him the money, and shot Casterman.

Graham told a friend he killed Casterman. A statement says the friend didn't believe Graham, so he texted her a picture of the body. He forced another friend at gunpoint to help dispose of the body, drove to West Blocton, Alabama and dumped the body.
