If you're looking for a simple tequila-based drink that hits the spot after a long August workday, consider the Paloma your new bestie. (Sorry, margarita.)

It's believed the drink was named after the 1860s folk song "La Paloma," Spanish for "the dove."

Bring some peace to your day with this dove of a drink recipe from Taqueria Jalisco-Ania, where Chattanoogans in the know go for their Paloma fix.

"It's a good cocktail for someone who doesn't drink a lot of tequila," says Taqueria Jalisco owner Jorge Parra, adding that it pairs well with pretty much any dish. "It's nice and refreshing, a great summer drink."

Also known as "the workingman's drink," keep the Paloma in mind for your Labor Day celebrations next month.

What you need:

* 2 ounces Reposado (aged) tequila

*Grapefruit soda, to taste (Taqueria Jalisco uses Jarritos. You can also try Fresca or Squirt.)

*Splash of lime juice

What you do:

*Pour tequila into rocks glass with ice, add grapefruit soda (traditionally one part tequila to three parts soda) and lime juice to taste. Stir and garnish with lime wedge.
