When it comes to new cars are you a "buy and hold" customer?

There are certain models of new automobiles that Chattanoogans often keep more than twice the national average of about 7 years.

In Chattanooga, here are the cars with the highest 15-year-plus retention rates, according to the website iSeeCars.com.

1. Toyota Camry, 17.2%*

2. Honda Odyssey, 12.6%

3. Ford Mustang, 10.8%

4. Toyota Corolla, 8.1%

5. Jeep Wrangler, 7.5%

*(Percent of 15-plus-year-old cars of this model kept by original owners.)

Nationally, four of the Top 5 vehicles people are most likely to keep 15-plus years are Toyota products. In order, they are the Highlander, Sienna, Tacoma and Tundra. In fifth position was the Subaru Forester.

The findings are from a study commissioned by iSeeCars that analyzed over 350,000 car transactions to see which are most likely to be kept by owners for 15 years or more. The full study can be found here.
