Dads may not get the pop-culture respect that moms get, but on Sunday they'll be the center of attention. Here are a few things to remember about what it means to be a dad and a few ideas for entertaining yours on Father's Day.
WHAT TO KNOW
— They like dad jokes. The kind of jokes that dads tell are wholesome but hokey attempts at humor, usually a pun or a one-liner with a groaner punchline.
Here are a couple sent in when we asked readers for their favorite dad jokes.

— Last month, my wife bought a Sylvester Stallone pillow and put it in the middle of the bed. Since then, things have been Rocky between us.
— They originated dad bods. The Urban Dictionary describes this male body type as "softly round" and "built for comfort," adding that the image is built upon the theory that "once a man has found a mate and fathered a child, he doesn't need to worry about maintaining a sculpted physique."
Still, there are T-shirts that put a positive spin on it. They read: "It's not a dad bod. It's a father figure."

— They love bargains. If you need a gift for dad, several places are offering bonuses with the purchase of a gift card. More bang for your buck? Dad would approve.
At the following restaurants, if you buy a $50 gift card, you'll get a $10 bonus card: Applebee's, Bonefish Grill, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Cracker Barrel, Logan's Roadhouse, Outback, Red Lobster (two $10 bonus coupons) and Texas Roadhouse. Through Tuesday, customers who buy $50 or more in gift cards for Lowe's, Texas Roadhouse, Roblox, Xbox, Longhorn, Dick's Sporting Goods or Buffalo Wild Wings will receive a $10 register coupon to be used on a future purchase at the grocery (valid for seven days).

— Barking Legs Theater, 1307 Dodds Ave., will welcome Italian acoustic guitarist Beppe Gambetta back to its stage at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. His sound merges American and European roots music. Tickets are $20. barkinglegs.org
— Black Dads Matter Father's Day Gospel/Jazz Brunch, part of the Chattanooga Festival of Black Arts & Ideas, starts at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in Waterhouse Pavilion at Miller Plaza, 850 Market St. At 2 p.m., actors from the Chattanooga Theatre Centre's winter production of "The Color Purple" will perform songs from the musical. — Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival will close out Sunday in Manchester, Tennessee, with the Foo Fighters scheduled to take the What Stage at 9:30 p.m. Thirty other acts, including Paramore, Umphrey's McGee and Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, will perform during the day, starting around 12:45 p.m. CDT. — Chattanooga Lookouts will play their last home game in a series against the Rocket City Trash Pandas at 2:15 p.m. Sunday at AT&T Field, 201 Power Alley.
