Here's what the Chattanooga area has to offer this week.
GOOD TO KNOW
Several places within a couple hours' driving distance of Chattanooga have made the list of "hidden gems" for viewing fall foliage in a survey of 3,000 people by Mixbook, makers of photo books. Many of the 150 chosen destinations are places known mostly to locals, rather than the wider population of travelers. Sterling Forest State Park in New York took top honors. At No. 9, Fall Creek Falls State Park in Spencer, Tennessee, the only place in the area to crack the Top 10, was described as "a quiet, scenic retreat, epitomizing the Southern charm of the fall season." At No. 80 was Little River Canyon National Preserve in Fort Payne, Alabama. Tri-state locations on the list also included Talladega National Forest in Alabama (45), Frozen Head State Park in Tennessee (103) and the Cohutta Wilderness Area in Georgia (125).
