After more than a year on the run, Silverdale escapee Gary Minton was arrested last night in Soddy Daisy.
Soddy-Daisy officials stopped Minton for a traffic violation and found he had an open warrant for his arrest and took him to jail.
Minton, 41, escaped from Silverdale Detention Facilities on Christmas Eve in 2015 around 6:15 p.m., according to a news release from a Silverdale spokesperson. Some members of the prison staff were escorting inmates who were taking trash out of Silverdale when Minton ran into the nearby woods.
