KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Police in Tennessee say they have arrested a driver for suspected driving under the influence after he hit two children in his pickup truck, injuring and hospitalizing them.

According to news outlets, a Knoxville Police news release said the two 10-year-olds were hit by a Ford F-150 when it left the road in Knoxville on Saturday morning.

Police said both children were in stable condition at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

Police say the driver, who said he didn't know how the accident happened, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Police have not yet identified the suspect or victims.
