The multi-county community group, Sewanee Organize and Act, will meet Sept. 17 to discuss ongoing and fall projects.

Sewanee Organize and Act was formed in January of members from Franklin, Grundy and Marion counties "to champion progressive values and resist a governmental agenda that will take the country backwards," according to a statement from the group.

The group will meet Sept. 17 at 2 p.m. CDT at Otey Parish's St. Mark's Hall in Sewanee, Tenn.

Members say that working groups have been formed around broad issues, including health care, immigration, environment, local politics and education.

The meeting is open to anyone. For more information, email sewaneeorganizeandact@gmail.com.
