The man suspected of killing a Polk County, Ga. detective was wanted in Walker County for violating the terms of his probation, Sheriff Steve Wilson said.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Seth Brandon Spangler shot an officer in Polk County, leading to a manhunt among multiple agencies. Around 3 p.m., the GBI announced that he was captured.

Court records show that he pleaded guilty to cruelty to children in Walker County in 2011, as well as possession of methamphetamine by an inmate.
