Four Chattanooga firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion after battling a house fire on the 100 block of North Orchard Knob Avenue Tuesday evening, according to a release from the Chattanooga Fire Department.

Three of the firefighters were taken to Erlanger Medical Center. No other injuries were reported.

Battalion Chief David Thompson Jr. said the firefighters quickly contained the fire to the back half of the one-story house. The fire has displaced one adult and volunteers with the American Red Cross will provide assistance to the victim.

The cause of the fire has been ruled accidental and most likely started after food was left unattended on the stove, according to the release.
