UPDATE: Dade County Sheriff Ray Cross said the suspect in Tuesday's high speed chase, Laura Leann Wooten, 35, targeted Sheriff's Major Tommy Bradford when she hit him as he was putting down spike strips on the side of the road.
Bradford is undergoing hip surgery today.

ORIGINAL STORY: The driver of the vehicle involved in Tuesday's high-speed chase is facing multiple felony charges related to an incident that left a Dade County law enforcement official hospitalized.
The suspect has been identified as 35-year-old Laura Leann Wooten, and she had been a suspect in a burglary earlier in the day, which led to the chase. A subsequent crash resulted in Dade County Sheriff's Office Major Tommy Bradford losing part of his leg. He is hospitalized at Erlanger in critical condition.
Wooten was the sole occupant of the car; a previous report said she was accompanied by a male.
A blood drive for Bradford is planned for Wednesday from 4:30-8:30 p.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Trenton, Gs., according to WRCB.
