Dalton police are looking for a man they say stole more than $200 worth of jewelry from a store.

The theft happened around 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hobby Lobby store on East Walnut Avenue. The suspect went into the jewelry section and spent several minutes trying to remove items from a jewelry display, according to a Dalton Police Department news release.

After being unable to remove the items from the display, he eventually removed the display rack hangers themselves. The suspect then left the store, getting away with about $220 worth of a variety of rings, earrings, and necklaces, the release states.

The theft was recorded by store surveillance.

The suspect is a white male who wore a camouflage baseball hat, a dark shirt and a gray jacket.
