ORIGINAL STORY: Dalton police are looking for a woman suspected of shoplifting from the Belk store at Walnut Square Mall, according to a release from the Dalton Police Department.

Loss prevention employees noticed the suspect pulling tags off clothing and stuffing them into her bag on Saturday, Feb. 10. When the employees confronted the suspect, the woman was able to get away from the store but dropped her bag, which contained shirts, socks and shoes valued at just over $272, according to the release. The suspect escaped in a red Ford Mustang with a white canvas top.

Employees told police the woman had shoplifted from the store before and gotten away with clothing she later sold online.

The suspect, a heavyset white woman, has blonde hair and a mole on her right cheek and on the left side of her chin. She wore a black jacket and the Ford Mustang she escaped in was a late 1990s or early 2000s model.
