Traffic stop leads to recovery of drugs, guns and cash

A routine vehicle stop for a traffic violation turned into a felony arrest for an East Ridge patrol officer.

After stopping the vehicle for the violation, the officer found a resale quantity of marijuana, 42 dosage units of suspected MDMA or ecstasy/Molly, $3,600 in cash and two handguns, one of which was reportedly stolen from Chattanooga.

Both the driver and the passenger were charged with several drug related violations along with theft and felony weapons charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
