Juvenile injured in overnight shooting

UPDATE: Police say a 9-year-old girl was injured in Sunday's shooting on Doolittle Street.

They are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects or suspects involved in the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call 423-698-2525.

ORIGINAL STORY: A juvenile was shot in the 2500 block of Doolittle Street early Sunday morning, according to Chattanooga police.

The girl was taken to a hospital at around 12:55 a.m. via a personally-owned vehicle for treatment of a critical but not life-threatening injury, a news release states.

As the investigation progressed, police determined a "large disorder" escalated and shots were fired, injuring the girl.

Her name has not been released, as she is a minor.
