Police investigating after man arrives at hospital 12 hours after being shot

A man went to a local hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound about 12 hours after a report of a person shot on Sheridan Avenue early Monday morning.

Police responded to the 1200 block of Sheridan Avenue at 2 a.m. but did not find a victim, according to a news release. Darryl Putman, 23, showed up at a local hospital around 2 p.m.

His injuries were minor, but investigators were able to link him to the shooting incident at 2 a.m.

They are continuing to work the case and ask anyone with information about the incident is to call 423-698-2525.
