The bridge on Alabama Highway 117 over the Tennessee River in Jackson County, Alabama, has been reopened to traffic, according to a Alabama Department of Transportation spokesman.

The state agency issued an announcement last week that the bridge, known as the Snodgrass Bridge, would close for repairs starting Monday. The closure caused some lengthy detours during the work, but traffic can resume normals routes and flow, ALDOT spokesman Seth Burkett said via email on Thursday.

The Snodgrass Bridge links U.S. Highway 72 and the Stevenson side of the river to the Flat Rock side.
