Man arrested for following 14-year-old girl around Target and taking pictures of her

A Chattanooga man is in police custody after he allegedly followed a 14-year-old girl around a Target store, taking photos of her.

Police responded to the 1800 block of Gunbarrel Road on Monday at 3:35 p.m. and spoke with a woman who said she was approached by someone who told her a man had been taking photos of her daughter, according to court documents.

The woman confronted Crawley and found several photos of her daughter on his phone. She said he started apologizing as she deleted some of the photos which were mainly of the girl's chest.

Police watched video footage of the suspect in the store as he followed the girl, continuously taking photos of her. Both the mother and the daughter positively identified Crawley as the suspect and a special victims investigator advised officers to proceed with issuing warrants for Crawley.

He has since been charged with unlawful photographing of a minor and is next scheduled to appear in court before General Sessions Judge Lila Statom on July 11.
