Chattanooga dad injured after tree falls on home

A Chattanooga man was injured after a tree fell on his family's home early Thursday morning.

The Chattanooga Fire Department received a call around 3:30 a.m. and responded to 7317 Elaine Circle, according to a news release.

Two adults and several children were able to escape the house by the time crews arrived on scene.

Battalion Chief David Thompson Jr. said the father had what appeared to be a broken arm. No one else was injured.

The family was able to retrieve some items from the home but will not be able to return until it has been inspected and repairs made.
