Two people are homeless after a fire Monday afternoon destroyed a Chattanooga home.
Shortly before 2 p.m., Chattanooga firefighters were dispatched to a house fire at 1103 N. Orchard Knob Ave, where firefighters saw heavy smoke coming from from at least two sides of the house.
Capt. Wadie Suttles said the firefighters made their way inside and found the fire in the kitchen. No one was inside the home and no injuries were reported.
Suttles said the cause of the fire is being ruled accidental, from food being left unattended on the stove.
