A person was injured in and early morning shooting Wednesday in the 700 block of West 48th Street, according to a Chattanooga Police Department news release.
Officers responded to a person shot report about 1:20 a.m. and found a person suffering from a gunshot wound.
The shooting victim was taken to an area hospital by Hamilton County Emergency Services. The victim's injuries were described as not life-threatening in the news release.
The person said he was sitting outside when he was shot after being approached by several suspects.
Members of the Major Crimes Bureau are investigating this incident.
