A juvenile was arrested on charges of attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment after allegedly shooting a teenager in the head earlier this week.

The suspect allegedly shot 18-year-old Iziyah Spence Thursday morning on Portland Street. Spence's injuries were considered life-threatening. There hasn't been an update on his condition.

The suspect, who has not been identified due to their age, is in custody at the Juvenile Detention Center. They were the sixth person arrested in connection to a string of shootings during a violent week. Police have not determined how many of the shootings, if any, were related. The week saw two homicides and five shootings - including a home invasion turned violent on Standifer Gap Road.
